List of bank holidays in October 2024: India has several bank holidays throughout the year, including national holidays, state-specific festivals, and notable observances.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) determines bank holidays, Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays, and account closure limitations for public and commercial banks in India.
It recently released the bank holidays for October 2024 and will observe a total of 15 non-working days, including State Assembly Elections, Gandhi Jayanti, which will be observed on October 2, Wednesday, and regional and state-specific holidays like Navratri, Durga Puja, and more declared by the different state governments.
Additionally, it will also observe statutory closures on the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays, as well.
It’s important to note that while branches will be closed, all online and digital banking services, including cash transfers and mobile banking applications, will continue to operate normally, allowing clients to handle their financial needs without interruption over the holidays.
