(PTI Photo)Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, is set to launch the ‘Fast Track Immigration—Trusted Traveller Program’ (FTI-TTP) today, Thursday, January 16, 2025, across major airports in India.
The FTI-TTP is a crucial initiative of the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision, aiming to enhance the experience of international travellers by offering world-class immigration facilities, thereby ensuring safe and seamless travel.
Notably, the minister introduced the FTI-TTP on June 22, 2024, at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi, established free of cost for Indian citizens and OCI cardholders.
The Fast Track Immigration—Trusted Traveller Program will be rolled out at 21 major airports nationwide; however, in this initial phase, besides Delhi, it is set to take place today at Indian airports in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Cochin.
The FTI-TTP is accessible through an online portal where applicants must complete their registration.
This involves filling out personal information and uploading necessary documents.
Biometric data will be captured either at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or upon arrival at the airport.
Once registered, travellers will use their airline-issued boarding pass and passport at the e-gates.
Biometrics will be verified at both departure and arrival points. Following successful authentication, the e-gate will automatically open, granting immigration clearance to the passenger.
