The 51-year-old Michelin-starred chef took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a photo of the stone art. Celebrity chef Vikas Khanna unveiled a replica of a Konark Temple wheel at Times Square, New York on the occasion of India’s 77th Independence Day. The stone art piece made of sandstone will be displayed till August 22 and later be installed at Khanna’s upcoming flagship restaurant in New York City in 2024.
The 51-year-old Michelin-starred chef took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a photo of the stone art that has been made by Odisha artist Amaresh Chandra Bindhani and his team.

(44th & Broadway) Please visit Times Square with your friends & family to fall in love with Odisha’s brilliant artists. Afterwards it will be installed at my upcoming flagship restaurant in New York City in 2024. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also congratulated Khanna and shared a video of him unveiling the stone art.
“Congratulate entrepreneur & celebrity chef @TheVikasKhanna on unveiling a replica of #KonarkTemple wheel at Times Square, New York on the occasion of India’s 77th #IndependenceDay. Thank Mr Khanna for showcasing #Odisha’s timeless sculpture before the world and appreciate the artists for the splendid craftsmanship,” Patnaik wrote on X.

The Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century temple located in Konark about 35 km northeast of Puri city. The temple is attributed to King Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga dynasty.
