Also known for his philanthropic work, the actor handled the situation with composure and highlighted the importance of wildlife protection.
On Saturday, the actor shared a video of the incident on Instagram, showing him capturing the non-venomous snake with his bare hands. He also warned viewers not to attempt rescuing snakes themselves. “Yeh humari society ke andar aa gaya. This is a rat snake, non-venomous, but we have to be very careful. Kahi baar humari societies mein aate hain, toh professionals ko zarur bulao. Hume toh aata hai pakadna, isiliye pakad liya, but be careful. Very, very important to be careful. Always call professionals, don’t try this (This one came inside our society. This is a rat snake, non-venomous, but we have to be very careful. Sometimes they enter our societies, so it’s important to call professionals. I know a little bit about how to catch them, that’s why I did it, but be careful. It’s very, very important to be cautious. Always call professionals, don’t try this yourself).”
In the video, Sood calmly places the snake inside a pillow cover, then asks his team to release it safely into a nearby forested area.

While several fans hailed Sood for rescuing the snake, naysayers accused him of making reels for views. “This is scripted,” a user wrote. “Sonu Sood, you are great. You have done a lot towards humanity even during the Corona period,” another user commented.
“Real life hero,” a third user reacted. “You recorded the video for fame,” a fourth user said.
Just days earlier, Sood helped Ambadas Pawar, a 76-year-old farmer from Hadolti village in Maharashtra’s Latur district, who was seen in a viral video manually ploughing his field as he couldn’t afford bullocks.
Responding to the video on X, Sood wrote, “Aap number bhejiye, hum bail bhejte hai (Send me your number, I’ll send bullocks).” The actor promised to gift the elderly farmer a pair of bullocks.
