In Noida, thieves make pakoras before stealing jewellery worth lakhs

Several houses in Noida’s Sector 82 have allegedly been robbed by thieves whose getaway plan included a midnight snack.

You may have heard of burglars stealing valuables and then helping themselves to leftovers from the kitchen. In a similar story, but with a culinary twist, a gang of thieves has reportedly been targeting houses in Noida’s Sector 82 and escaping – after cooking pakoras in their victims’ kitchens.

Several homes have been targeted in the area recently with thieves swiping valuables worth lakhs, according to news reports.

The same gang of thieves made off with Rs 3 lakh worth of jewellery in Sector 25 from the home of Richa Bajpai, as per reports. Before their getaway, they indulged in beedis, emptied water bottles, savoured paan, and spat in the bathroom.

Following a complaint, the police have filed a case and launched an investigation. Deputy Superintendent of Police Hridesh Katheria announced that a special task force had been created to track down the thieves.

With six homes reportedly being robbed in one day, residents of Noida’s Sector 82 are locking up and staying indoors in fear, reports said.
