‘Mumbai is not for beginners’: Man’s unique approach to listen to music in ‘handsfree’ manner on local train goes viral

The man put his mobile phone on the panel outside the compartment and was listening to music in a “handsfree” manner through his wired earphones. While people are jostling for space, the man stood pretty nonchalant and when he saw someone recording him, he raised his hand. The video has been credited to the Instagram user (@being_ayaan_7).

The video has received more than six million views since being posted three days ago.

“Mumbai is not for beginners,” a user commented. “Science is not sciencing after this,” said another. “I saw this guy in the evening today..i was really like wtf,” wrote a third. “People before pockets were invented,” another person said. “This is dangerous .. it can result into heavy volt shock due to signal clash,” wrote yet another.

Mumbai’s local trains are commonly known as the lifeline of the maximum city. The rail network is used by thousands of passengers every day to commute across the city. However, over the years, the existing number of local trains has fallen short for the city’s booming population.

In October, a video posted on Reddit showed a group of people prying open the doors of a Mumbai local train coach in a desperate attempt to board it. It is unclear if the train’s doors open automatically or if people are just impatient to wait for them to open. It is also not clear if the doors were jammed and were being forced open as there was a deluge of passengers.
