In a heart-felt moment, an Indonesian delegation performed Shah Rukh Khan’s popular song Kuch Kuch Hota Hai at the banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday. Originally crooned by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, the song has SRK, Rani Mukerji, and Kajol, and is from Karan Johar’s directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
The event for the delegation, which had senior Indonesian ministers, was hosted to honour Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Shared by ANI, the viral video shows the ministers singing the song, dressed immaculately in suits and the traditional Indonesian hat, Songkok.
“The Indonesian President is on his first State Visit to India. He will be the Chief Guest for India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations,” ANI wrote on X.

Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto, the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day celebrations, arrived in New Delhi on Thursday. During his visit, Subianto held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, underscoring Indonesia’s commitment to enhancing political, defence, and security ties with India. Subianto will be the fourth Indonesian leader to receive this honour.
According to PTI, The 76th Republic Day celebrations will see President Murmu and the Indonesian President arriving in the “traditional buggy”.
The National Flag will be hoisted, followed by the National Anthem and a 21-gun salute. 300 artists will perform Sare Jahan Se Achha, while Mi-17 1V helicopters from the 129 Helicopter Unit will shower flower petals.
The 76th Republic Day celebrations will also feature Indonesia’s Genderang Suling Canka Lokananta, a 190-member band from the Indonesian Military Academy (Akmil), which reflects the country’s discipline and military heritage.
