Fans were left in shock after Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal was postponed when her father was hospitalised on the day of the ceremony due to ill health. This unexpected development was soon followed by rumours against Palash and speculation about possible trouble in their relationship. Amid the chatter, Palash visited Premanand Maharaj, a spiritual leader in Vrindavan.
The composer’s photo from his visit, sitting in the front row with folded hands, has gone viral. Palash is seen wearing a white shirt and black jacket in the image. This marks Palash’s second public appearance after the wedding postponement; earlier, he was clicked at the Mumbai airport.
Smriti and Palash’s wedding remains postponed
Recently, rumours also began circulating that a new wedding date for Palash and Smriti had been set for December 7. But Smriti’s brother, Shravan Mandhana, has now addressed the speculation. Shravan spoke about these claims and shared that the wedding remains postponed. He told HT, “I have no idea about these rumours. As of now it (the wedding) is still postponed.”
What happened between Smriti and Palash?
Smriti and Palash were set to tie the knot on November 23. However, their wedding was postponed after her father fell ill and was admitted to the hospital. Soon after, social media pages and online forums claimed that Palash Muchhal had been unfaithful. The rumours gained traction after Smriti deleted all the posts related to her wedding, along with her Indian cricket team members also deleting their posts. Wedding choreographers Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan were dragged into the controversy as the cheating rumours picked up momentum.
Meanwhile, Palash was admitted to a hospital in Sanghli, where the wedding was scheduled, and then returned to Mumbai with his family. His mother defended Palash and shared that he too fell ill after seeing Smriti’s father’s condition, as he was very close to him. She even claimed that it was Palash — and not Smriti — who first decided to postpone the wedding. Through all the speculations, the couple and their family members have chosen to remain quiet.
