India Republic Day 2025: Google Doodle celebrates India’s 76th Republic Day with focus on ecology, wildlife

The doodle features a colorful depiction of the Republic Day parade, which is a hallmark of the celebrations held in New Delhi. It reflects traditional attire and performances from different states, highlighting diversity incorporated with ecological heritage with wildlife at the centre of the art.

“My initial thoughts centered around showcasing the unity of people from diverse cultures coming together to celebrate. India’s incredible vibrancy lies in its diversity – cultures, traditions, and the colorful attire of its people.”, said the doodle artist Rohan Dahotre.

The doodle incorporates various animals dressed in traditional Indian attires including a peacock soaring through the sky and an antelope adorned in ceremonial garb, all representing India’s rich cultural and ecological diversity.

“As a wildlife illustrator, I also considered incorporating animals dressed in traditional human attire, an idea that was met with enthusiasm. Drawing wildlife is one of my core strengths.”, said Dahotre.

This year, India will mark its 76th Republic Day under the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Legacy and Progress), which will highlight India’s rich cultural legacy and hopes for a brighter future.

In a notable mention, it will be H.E. Prabowo Subianto, the President of Indonesia’s first visit to India as the President since assuming office in October 2024.
