The Indian duo of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh clinched the bronze medal in the 10 m Air Pistol mixed team event at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre, marking India’s second shooting medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. To celebrate the achievement, Google India joined in and took to X to congratulate Bhaker and Singh.
In a post on X, the official handle of Google India wrote, “Ek hi toh dil hai…do baar jeet liya. (Have just one heart, you won it twice). Congratulations to #ManuBhaker and #SarabjotSingh for winning the first ever medal for India in a shooting team event.”
They also shared a photo with the message which shows a bronze medal popping up along with flower bouquets when you use the phrase ‘India Olympics 204’ and press the search button on Google.
In the 10 m Air Pistol mixed team event, Bhaker and Singh finished third with 580 points and 20 perfect shots. They defeated the Korean pair of Xue Li and Wonho Lee 16-8 in the bronze medal match. The Korean team finished fourth with 579 points and 18 perfect shots.
This was Singh’s first Olympic medal while Bhaker made history as the first Indian to win multiple medals at a single Olympic Games, adding to her bronze in the women’s 10 m air pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
