When engaging with tuskers, one needs to be extremely careful, even if they are trained. They might turn aggressive and resort to attack when provoked.

Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda, who often shares intriguing wildlife content online, has posted a video showing a woman leading an elephant by showing a banana. The elephant is seen coming up through the bushes near a water body.

The woman shows a banana to it in an attempt seemingly to guide it. She does not give the banana to the elephant and moves backwards. However, the attempt goes wrong as the pachyderm instantly charges at her. Aggressively, the tusker pushes her away.

“You can’t fool an elephant even though he is tamed. They are one of the most intelligent animals to be in captivity,” Nanda noted. Since being shared on Thursday, the clip has amassed more than 64,000 views on Twitter.

The video elicited several responses from users and many were concerned about the woman’s health. A user commented, “Hope she survived the attack.” Another user wrote, “She must have suffered several fractures.” A third user wrote, “Humans need to understand that wildlife is magnificent and majestic spirit and we need to respect their being..not be arrogant with them and bring in our human behaviour in their aura @susantananda3.”
