In megacities like Bangalore, people in the unorganised sector often have to take up multiple gig jobs to earn a living. Many autorickshaws and cab drivers offer their services on different apps to maximise the chances of getting customers.
Against this backdrop, an interesting X post has emerged showing an auto driver named Dasharath, with the same registration number accepting rides from two different locations on two apps.
X user @design_melon_ shared side-by-side phone screen pictures of this strange occurrence and wrote, “2 different locations, 2 different apps, 2 different phones. Same auto, Same driver, @peakbengaluru much?”.
Commenting on this post, an X user wrote, “Dashrath need a raise 💰 ”. Another user jokingly wrote, “defeating space time continuum”.
However, another user questioned the claim and wrote, “How did you manage to get this pic from 2 different locations? There is no time reflecting on both the phones (smartly done).”

In April, a similar picture of an autorickshaw went viral. The autorickshaw had attached a temporary number plate displaying its numbers for Ola and Rapido, while its registered number was displayed on a separate number plate. Many people questioned the legality of operating with three different registration numbers at once.
After this picture began doing the rounds on X, Ola Support responded to the post and wrote, “Request you to share the CRN of the ride mentioned along with your registered Email ID via DM so that our team can look into this.”
