Industrialist Anand Mahindra, who is known for sharing interesting and inspiring content on X, formerly Twitter, was left flummoxed when a netizen shared a photo of his colleague who resembled the Mahindra Group chairperson.
It began with a post by Mahindra on November 3. The 68-year-old shared a photo of a snack packet Bombay Mixture that had the brand name Anand. “Encountered in New York. Lawyers tell me I would not be successful in suing for brand violation,” Mahindra wrote.

Replying to Mahindra, a man shared a photo of his colleague from Pune who resembled Mahindra. “@anandmahindra You too can get shocked after seeing this person. My colleague from Pune, lookalike Anand Mahindra,” he wrote. Mahindra noticed the man’s resemblance to him and posted a witty reply.
“Looks like we were separated during some Mela in our childhood…” Mahindra wrote. Getting separated in a local fare during childhood was a recurring theme in many old Indian films.

“Do u have a family song to verify if he is really a family member?” a user commented referring to another such film plotline. “It is the time you’d both meet back,” said another. “It’s incredible how life has a way of weaving connections. Wishing you both a joyful reunion!” the user who had posted the original tweet wrote. “If he goes to court, you will have to prove he is not your brother,” another netizen joked.
In June, Mahindra took to X to share a selfie with chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani, 3rdiTech co-founder Vrinda Kapoor and astronaut Sunita Williams during a trip to the US. Mahindra and Ambani were in Washington DC to attend a state dinner organised in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
