Video shows woman reuniting with her little son after he wakes up from 16-day coma; netizens get emotional

“Mother reunites with her little one after he spent 16 days in a coma. The boy was diagnosed at birth with a rare skin condition called dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. The condition is characterized by a lack of type VII collagen, a protein that joins the dermis to the epidermis, known as ‘binding protein’.

The condition requires a lot of care from parents and Gui himself, who needs to be aware of friction that can cause injuries and blisters on the skin. Due to complications from the disease, the little boy was in a coma for 16 days, 14 of which were intubated. We are rooting for you Gui!” says the caption of the post.
