Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google Inc., was recently asked a potentially life-changing question on Twitter. At a time when people are highly dependent on emojis and smileys while communicating through texts (which they do a lot), Thomas Baekdal, an author, raised a significant question through his tweet — “I think we need to have a discussion about how Google’s burger emoji is placing the cheese underneath the burger, while Apple puts it on top”.
He posted the tweet along with demonstrations of how the two conceptually different looking burgers was a matter of huge concern.

Resonating the urgency of this comment, Pichai promptly got back to him. He responded to Baekdal with the tweet: “Will drop everything else we are doing and address on Monday:) if folks can agree on the correct way to do this!

Pichai’s response was an open invitation and Tweeple immediately started sharing what they thought was the appropriate burger hierarchy. A quick look at the tweets and people were clearly saying the obvious — “The cheese will go on top because it will melt. End of discussion.”
Meanwhile, take a look at some of the Twitter reactions while we also suggest you also brace yourselves for some hilarious burger puns alongside.
If Sundar says they’ll do it, then consider it bun

Oof. These burger puns are going to ketchup with you in a bad way.

People, PLEASE lettuce quit while we’re ahead

Personally I relish this sort of discussion

There is only one way: the cheese must melt directly on top of the patty.

Cheese misplacement is clearly the result of not enough diversity on the emoji team. Damn those vegetarians.

Cheese belongs on top. What are we? Heathens?
— Jenna Bilotta (@jenna) October 29, 2017
sundar, im not gonna lie
this is not good cheese placement

Cheese on top please
— Caitlin Fitzsimmons (@niltiac) October 29, 2017
Apple is wrong too as they have the lettuce at the bottom – need bottom bun, patty, cheese (optional), lettuce, tomato.

That’s why you need a Vada Pav emoji. pic.twitter.com/4feMkg8VEG

Goes on top Mr. Pichai. Do the right thing sir.
— Kazushi Nethery (@sakurabruh) October 29, 2017
That’s why in India we go for Vadapav instead. No confusion.
