In a shocking scene captured on CCTV, a portion of the floor of a bustling shopping mall in China collapses suddenly, sparking a wave of concern about the safety standards at public spaces. The video, shared by @brutamerica on their official Instagram account, shows a customer being swallowed up by the floor as she stepped onto the ‘vulnerable’ tile. A construction worker who was working below also got trapped under the debris. The alarming footage garnered millions of views. Firefighters reached the spot to rescue the customer and the worker. Both did not have any major injuries. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse, aiming to ascertain whether it was an isolated incident or indicative of broader safety lapses in the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure.
