Fan escorted out during Ind vs Aus Adelaide Test for displaying 'sandpaper’The Border-Gavaskar Trophy has lived up to its fiery reputation, with only two of the five Tests played so far delivering plenty of drama both on and off the field. The second Test saw tensions rise between players, particularly during a heated exchange between Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj. However, it seems the excitement wasn’t limited to the pitch.
A viral video from the Adelaide Oval shows an Indian fan being escorted out by stadium security. The fan, dressed in India’s Test jersey, was reportedly seen holding a piece of sandpaper, sparking amused reactions from the crowd. As the fan was led away, spectators waved goodbye with playful jeers, capturing the lighthearted yet intense spirit of the series.

What is the ‘sandpaper scandal’?
The infamous 2018 ball-tampering scandal in Cape Town shook Australian cricket to its core. During a Test match against South Africa, then-captain Steve Smith admitted to the team’s deliberate attempt to alter the ball’s condition using sandpaper. The controversy erupted after Cameron Bancroft was caught on camera hiding the sandpaper in his pants.
As a result, Smith and David Warner were stripped of their roles as captain and vice captain, and all three players — Smith, Warner, and Bancroft — faced bans from cricket for a year.
