‘What an amazing encounter’: Curious badger goes after runner’s shoes

Badgers live in holes in the ground. As per the BBC Wildlife magazine, they have very poor eyesight. This allows one to observe them closely if one stands still. Badgers will take time to realise that there is someone within their proximity.

A Twitter user commented, “Brilliant! They can’t see very well, apparently. I get them in the garden & some years they just wander round the patio right up to my chair while I’m sitting with an evening drink.”

Another user wrote, “…lucky it’s only a baby, a big boar could do a lot of damage…when i was a kid out riding me and my pony where regularly chased by a large badger…they can be quite scary…lovely interaction for you, tho’…”.
