Stunning visuals capturing an aurora witnessed at Fairbanks in the US state of Alaska have surfaced online. The aurora was an aftermath of the powerful solar storm that hit the planet on Friday.
A clip shared by Twitter user Vincent Ledvina shows dynamic patterns of a green light covering the sky. It gets brighter and layers of white patterns are also seen. The green pattern spreads and the person recording the video is heard going “wow” over the sight.

The geomagnetic storm that occurred on Friday was of G4-grade severity, as per the US National Open and Atmospheric Administration. Such a storm may result in widespread voltage control problems for power grids.
