During the King’s Day celebration in Amsterdam, a crowd danced to the infectious beats of Sapna Choudhary’s hit song Teri Aakhya Ka Yo Kajal. The video showed locals and tourists, most of them dressed in orange, dancing to the song.
The video was shared by @kanak_diaries on Instagram and has already crossed a lakh views. The caption read, “When Sapna Choudhary’s fever hit Amsterdam streets.”
The video not only highlighted the growing influence of Indian music on a global scale, but also demonstrated the power of music to unite people from diverse backgrounds.
The viral video attracted a lot of comments. One user said, “Amster Nagar ,, Amsterabad.” Another user wrote, “Remember the Netherlands sports team colours are also orange,” trying to steer away the negative comments that are also in the video. A third user wrote, “It was lit.” And a fourth user wrote, “These songs.”
King’s Day or Koningsdag is a celebration held annually, on April 27, to celebrate King Willem-Alexander’s birthday. It is one of the biggest and most colourful festivities in the Netherlands, especially in Amsterdam. People dress in orange because the royal family bears the name ‘House of Orange’ (Huis van Oranje), and it is the national colour of the Netherlands.
