Japan is one of the countries with the lowest-birth rates in the world and is struggling with an ageing population. The United Nations says Japan has the world’s oldest population and national data shows 29.1 per cent of the country’s 125 million people are aged at 65 or even older.

If you wonder how the elderly spend their time in Japan, a video posted on Instagram shows a day in the life of a 95-year-old man. Instagram page named Asian Feed posted the video of the man. “A day in the life of my 95-year-old Japanese grandpa,” says a text insert in the video.

At 10:30 am, he is seen sitting in front of a desktop and working on his blog. At 11:30 am, he sits down in front of a large mirror to draw a self-portrait, which he has many. At 12 pm, he is seen practising on a recorder and then takes a small break. At 12:30 pm, he has lunch sitting on a dining table with his wife. At 1 pm, he tends to his garden that is situated in his home’s backyard. Then at 2 in the noon, he heads out to the train station art gallery. He is seen showing off his walker to others. At 3 pm, he heads home for another nap.
