Google Pixel 9 series leaked hands-on photos show redesigned camera bar and smaller Pro model

The Pixel 9 series is expected to consist of three phones - the regular Pixel 9, the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. All phones are said to be powered by the unannounced Tensor G4 chipset.

Google Pixel phones are one of the most leaked smartphones of all time, and it looks like the upcoming Pixel 9 series is no exception. The smartphone lineup may be months away from launch, but a series of leaked photos have already surfaced on the internet, giving us a good idea of what they look like.

According to a recent report by the Russian publication Rozetked, the Pixel 9 series will have a redesigned camera bar. Instead of the current camera bar that stretches from one edge of the phone to the other, it looks like Gooogle is opting for a small oval camera strip, which looks similar to the Pixel Fold’s camera island.

Apart from the redesigned camera island, the publication also revealed a few hardware specifications about the upcoming phones. As one would expect, the Google Pixel 9 series is said to feature the much-rumoured Tensor G4 chipset, with the regular compact-sized Pixel 9 sporting 12GB RAM whereas the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL might pack 16GB of RAM.

While the Pixel 9 is said to feature a dual camera setup without a telephoto lens, it looks like the Pro models will pack a triple 50MP camera setup. The report also claims that the Pixel 9 will have a 6.24-inch screen whereas the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL may have a 6.34-inch and a 6.73-inch display.

The Google Pixel 9 series is expected to launch sometime in October and come with Android 15 out of the box.  If the rumours are true, the newly launched Pixel 8a might be the last ‘a’ series phone.
