The Indian cricket team won seven of their nine matches, with one match being washed off. India first beat South Africa by six wickets before emerging victorious against defending champions Australia by 34 runs, Pakistan by 89 runs (DLS), Afghanistan by 11 runs and West Indies by 125 runs. Their unbeaten run came to an end with a loss against England by 31 runs but they cemented their place in the semi-final with a win by 28 runs against Bangladesh. India beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets on Saturday.
India finish top of the points table and will play New Zealand in the first semifinal. Australia have finished second on the World Cup points table and will face England in the second semifinal.
