Narendra Modi tests positive for swine flu

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi,who returned from abroad two days back,tested positive for swine flu on Friday.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has been tested H1N1 positive,and the doctors attending on him has advised him a complete rest and “house isolation” for one week. All facilities for isolation and medical treatment have been arranged at the official residence of Modi in Gandhinagar.

A team of four doctors including R K Patel,Atul Patel,Kamlesh Upadhayaya and Paresh Vora is attending on the Chief Minister.

“There is no cause for any concern regarding the CM’s health and that he is responding to the treatment”,Dr Atul Patel told media persons while reading out a health bulletin here on Friday.

Patel said that on Thursday morning,the CM showed signs of cold,cough and body temperature,and when doctors examined him,he himself insisted that an H1N1 test be conducted on him. Modi even attended the Cabinet meeting and other official work in his chamber at the Sachivalaya on Thursday. He received visitors till late in the evening. Later,when the fever increased,he decided to cancel all official programmes for two days.

Meanwhile,a doctor attending on him told The Indian Express that Modi has been quarantined for one week,and is being administered antibiotic drugs,including Tami flu tablets. The doctor revealed that,“the CM was running high fever on Thursday night,but today the temperature has come down considerably which can be called normal.”

The doctors have requested the CMO to ensure that the entry of ministers,officials and even visitors to Modi’s official residence be restricted in view of the CM being quarantined for a week.
