Zunka bhakar centre owners on warpath

Addressing a press conference here, Jagdish Choudhary, secretary of the Nagpur Zilla Jhunka Bhakar Kendra Sanchalak Samiti, said that in the first phase, condemnation letters will be submitted to the all the tehsils in the region on April 9. On April 12, dharnas will be staged in front of the district collectorates, followed by submission of a memorandum of demands.

Demonstrations will also be staged in front of the residences of all local MLAs of the BJP and Shiv Sena. In the final phase, a morcha will leave for Mumbai on April 19 and the delegation of the owners will meet ChiefMinister Narayan Rane and Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde to discuss the issue.

Choudhary said that if no acceptable solutions come out of these steps, the agitation will be further intensified. However, the centres will remain open during this period.

Choudhary said that the centres are still operating in the state, maintaining a status quo regarding the rates Rs one per plate as the centre owners have not received any official communication regarding the withdrawal of grants or the recent decision of allowing the centres to sell zhunka bhakar at the rate of Rs two per plate.

Dr Sunanda Nalhe, working president of the Nagpur district unit, Kamlesh Rathi, Pushparaj Dautkhani, Ravindra Bhanare and others were present at the press conference.
