MUMBAI, August 24: St Stanislaus’ Yohann Pereira stole the thunder as he netted all the seven goals in his school’s 7-0 drubbing of ANZA in the under-16 Ahmed Sailor Cup match of the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School football tournament at the MSSA-Castrol Schools Sports Centre ground, Azad Maidan, today.

In another match of the same competition, Adrian D’Souza was also in dazzling form as he notched all five goals as St Anne’s, Orlem, trounced Holy Name 5-1.

Poojary nets winner

Chandrakant Poojary’s lone goal turned out to be the match-winner for Bank of India against Union Bank of India in the WIFA Super Division football league at the Cooperage,today.

Bank of Baroda beat Companeroes 3-0 in the Division I league tie. Savio Dias netted the first two goals and Amiruddin Ansari rounded-off the tally.In the Division III matches, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) drew goalless with Air-Freight and Bombay Muslims held Dena Bank 2-2. Javed Ansari and Roshan scored for Muslims and Ray netted both the goals for the bankmen.

Easy for St Xavier’s

St Xavier’s scored a facile 3-0 victory over Sydenham in the fourth-round of the Inter-Collegiate football tournament at the Mumbai Schools ground, Azad Maidan, this morning.

George Verghese, Savio Miranda and Chester Misquitta scored for the winners.
