Use of Ketamine or "Special K" as it is known in the dark alleys of New York has become very popular among the younger section in recent years, the report said. The report quoted officials as saying that Ketamine is a "getaway drug" which can lead to further experimentation with more potent narcotics. The drug is a quick acting "dissociative" used in cats prior to neutering operations and by researchers to calm monkeys and other animals before experiments.
