Around 50 cow carcasses were found in a “deplorable condition” at the animal carcass disposal centre adjoining Raipur Kalan gaushala here on Wednesday, prompting the Chandigarh Administration to order a magisterial inquiry in this connection, UT officials said. Taking serious note of the situation, UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria sought a detailed report in this connection and ordered strict action against erring officials.

The entire process is being videographed,” officials said. Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar visited the site to assess the situation.
“The Municipal Corporation has suspended Dr Inderdeep Kaur, Medical Officer of Health, and Praveen Kumar, Inspector, Cattle Pound, Raipur Kalan…,” the Municipal Commissioner said in a statement.
