The family of Dr Y S Sachan on Thursday refused to cremate his body till the government handed over the investigation to the CBI. They said Dr Sachan was first framed in a false case and then murdered, and the state police cannot bring out the truth.

After the post-mortem,the body reached Dr Sachans Jankipuram residence around 3 pm,initially, the family wanted to hold the cremation within a few hours. Later, they said that the government would just not care for their demand once the body was cremated.

The family has decided to cremate the body only after the announcement of he transfer of the case to CBI, said R K Sachan, elder brother of Dr Y S Sachan.

Since the government had declared that Dr Sachans death was suicide, the family had apprehensions about the fairness of the post-mortem. Dr Sachans wife,Malti said they would accept a post-mortem only by AIIMS doctors.

District Magistrate Anil Kumar Sagar and DIG DK Thakur showed them the post-mortem report which identified blood loss from eight cuts as the cause of death and said the ligature mark on the neck was suffered during the post-mortem.

Doctors body too calls it a murder

The Uttar Pradesh Provincial Medical and Health Services Association the organisation of government doctors has called Dr Y S Sachans death a murder and demanded a CBI investigation into his death, and also the killing CMOs B P Singh and Vinod Arya. After a meeting, association president D R Singh said,We consider the death of Dr Sachan a murder, and not suicide,in view of the circumstances in which he died and the series of incidents. While we are yet to decide the future line of action about protest,it was unanimously decided to demand a CBI probe in all three murder cases. Among the reasons why they suspect it to be a case of murder, doctors said, was the fact that Sachan was a doctor himself and he knew he did not need to cut at so many places in his body to commit suicide.

No need for new panel for post-mortem: HC

A Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court refused to issue any order on an application seeking directives that the autopsy on Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Y S Sachans body be conducted by an independent panel of doctors. Senior advocate Kamini Jaiswal argued that the public was shocked by Dr Sachans death on jail premises. But when the court was told that the brother of Dr Sachan,a senior doctor himself, was present during the post-mortem,it felt no further orders in the matter were required.
