The CPM-led Opposition has said it would not cooperate with the Congress governments investment meet,Emerging Kerala 2012,to be held in Kochi in the second week of September.

As many as 51 nations and 2,500-odd delegates have so far confirmed participation,in which Kerala would showcase various investment projects in nearly two dozen verticals. A section of Congress leaders has already sounded displeasure about the event as several controversial projects, once spiked due to public protest, have figured in the list.

After the meeting of the Left Democratic Front on Friday, convener Vaikkom Vishwan said the LDF was not prejudiced about the event, but the government had to come out with all details. Under the guise of development,we will not allow the alienation of public land, he said.

Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan, who had extended support for the global investors meet of 2003,said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy should answer the corruption charges raised against the emerging Kerala.

Reacting to the Left stand,Chandy said his government did not want to indulge in controversies.
