TN varsity offers admission to UP child prodigy

The teen prodigy has completed her graduation and has been granted admission to MSc Microbiology at Lucknow University.

The 13-year-old child prodigy from Uttar Pradesh,Sushma Verma,has been offered admission to the integrated MSc and PhD programme at the B S Abdur Rahman University of Science and Technology in Chennai.

Universitys vice-chancellor Prof J A K Tareen said Verma and her parents met him,director Admissions V N A Jalal,Pro Vice-Chancellor V M Periasamy and Registrar V Murugesan at the university on Wednesday.

The university has offered Verma free education,free boarding at the hostel,an appropriate maintenance allowance and also a research fellowship of Rs 12,000 starting from the IIIrd year of her PhD programme.

The university further contemplates to provide accommodation and job to her father commensurate with his skills, a statement issued by the V-C said.
