A few days after Aga Khan Trust for Culture’s Jashn-e-Khusrau regaled the Delhi audience at a host of historical venues,Delhi’s annual sufi festival Jahan-e-Khusrau has also found place in the city’s cultural calendar.

A few days after Aga Khan Trust for Culture’s Jashn-e-Khusrau regaled the Delhi audience at a host of historical venues,Delhi’s annual sufi festival Jahan-e-Khusrau has also found place in the city’s cultural calendar.

Director-designer-writer Muzaffar Ali’s brainchild,Jahan-e-Khusrau — a three-day festival to commemorate the death anniversary of Sufi saint Hazrat Amir Khusrau — has presented some of the finest acts in the past.

The festival which starts today,will open with a folk performance by Malini Awasthi. This will be followed by a kathak dance recital by Astha Dixit and Hyderabad-based Nazir Ahmad Warsi and group.

The second day’s highlight will include singer Shafqat Amanat Ali. There will be blues musician Delhi-based Devashi Sehgal,gospel singer Sonam Kalra and Mercan Dade,a Turkish DJ,as well. Abida Parveen,who is also the patron,will conclude the festival.

Jahan-e-Khusrau will also travel to Lucknow on March 8 and 9,at the Dilkusha Palace.
