Infosys mentor N R Narayana Murthy called for a halt to 8220;comments8221; and 8220;second guessing8221; on Satyam and leave it to its new board and employees to revive the company.
Murthy told reporters on the sidelines of India8217;s technology leaders conference in Bangalore that he had stopped commenting after the new set of directors took over Satyam to revive it. 8220;There is no need to discuss on issues concerning the impact Satyam will have on the IT industry,8221; he said.
8220;Satyam Computer has a new board of Directors in Kiran Karnik,Deepak Parekh and C Achuthan and it is best to communicate with them,8221; he said.
Now that the board has been appointed,8221;rest of us should stop second guessing. The trio has a lot of experience. They have handled major crisis. I would rather leave it at that,8221; Murthy said.
8220;We should give confidence to Satyam,its employees and leaders by distancing ourselves from making comments,8221; the Executive Chairman of one of the largest software exporters and the NASDAQ-listed company said.
Asked what lessons the IT industry could learn from the Satyam crisis,he said the new Board of Directors need a couple of days to assess the situation and take decisions. 8220;The rest of us should stop meddling and giving opinions8221;.
On the future of Satyam,he said it was for the Board members to discuss it as they have 8220;good ideas8221;.
He ducked a query on whether Infosys would show interest if Satyam was up for sale. 8220;They have a board of directors. They are eminent,8221; he said.
