Sonia: No pomp and show at memorials

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh urging the government to ensure that there should be no pomp and show or ostentatious displays during functions organised at memorials in New Delhi.

Congress sources said the letter,sent about a month back,was meant to cause minimum inconvenience to people on such occasions. Sonia also wanted the government to minimise expenditures incurred during such functions.
