French President Nicolas Sarkozy vowed Monday to file a complaint against a website that claims to have evidence that he received 50 million euros for his 2007 presidential campaign from Muammar Gaddafi.
Sarkozy has denied the allegation, first levelled by Gaddafis son Saif last year.
Mediapart reported Saturday it had a 2006 document signed by Gaddafis then intelligence chief Moussa Koussa that showed the Libyan regime had agreed to spend 50 million euros on Sarkozys campaign.
Sarkozy also accused the webiste of being a mouthpiece for the left,a charge Francois Bonnet, its editorial director, rejected as simply grotesque and defamatory.
