Ranbir does a tapori number

Ranbir Kapoor has lent his support to a children’s film called Chillar Party.

Ranbir Kapoor has lent his support to a children’s film called Chillar Party. The actor will be seen grooving in the film’s promotional song. Says the director of the film,Nitesh Tiwari,“Ranbir saw the film and liked it so much that he was eager to promote it. He firmly believes that movies like these, which are a good watch but lack stars, need support.”

Shot in Mumbai’s Film City, the song has Ranbir in a tapori avatar performing to a dhinchak number. Confirms Tiwari,“It is a ‘street song’ wherein Ranbir will be seen as a tapori, shaking a leg with the kids from the film. The lyrics of the song are very Mumbaiyya and has a lingo that is spoken by the bhais of Mumbai – Panga na karna,Aarele chhokre etc.”

The song, which is strictly for promotion of the film, will not be seen as part of the movie and will have Ranbir sporting three different looks and costumes. According to the director, all the three looks are a tribute to the actor’s father,Rishi Kapoor. “For example, the look where Ranbir sports a moustache and is chewing paan is a tribute to his dad who had sported the same look in Manmohan Desai’s Amar Akbar Anthony,” said Tiwari.
