Rahul wants monthly report from AICC secys

The secretaries will have to give outcomes and the processes followed to achieve the same. They will have to identify the district and block committees which hold regular monthly meetings,as well as details of the meetings which they have attended etc.

Meanwhile,Saturday marked another day of workshops in the Congress,with 60 select party leaders from across the country being addressed by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia,some other panel members and former bureaucrats such as G K Pillai. These sessions are meant to make these leaders better prepared to put across party view during television debates.

Those who attended said there were mock TV debates and simulated panel discussions. Former bureaucrat and head of the Congresss SC department K Raju stood in for one of the TV anchors known for his aggressive grilling at one of these sessions.

Ahluwalia interacted with the participants on government measures to address the economic crisis,his colleague Syeda Hameed on achievements of the UPA in the health sector and its pro-minority initiatives,Arun Maira on steps being taken to boost infrastructure,Pillai and Radha Kumar on internal security issues,Nikhil Dey on RTI,etc.

Rahul too interacted with the leaders,walking in when the session on internal security was on. Intervening,he is learnt to have identified lack of trust between the communities as the reason for the communal strife and spoke about the need for building trust.

The 60 leaders,who have been attending these workshops for the past five days,were selected following a two-day workshop for 300-odd leaders from across the country in August. The performance of the 60 is being analysed and around 40 have been rated outstanding.
