Black pepper and jeera prices fell by up to Rs 500 per quintal in the national capital today on reduced offtake by retailers and stockists due to subdued demand amid adequate stocks.
Black pepper prices declined by up to Rs 500 to conclude at Rs 32,900-34,000 per quintal due to arrivals of new crop.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also traded lower at Rs 15,000-15,200 and Rs 18,000-18,200 per quintal,respectively.
Marketmen said subdued export and domestic demand against adequate stocks due to arrival of new crop,mainly put pressure on the pepper and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
