Opto Circuits India,a developer and maker of patient monitoring systems,today said it has fully acquired US-based Unetixs Vascular for USD 9.7 million about Rs 45 crore in cash.
Unetixs Vascular is a specialist in detection of peripheral arterial disease PAD and the acquisition will give Opto Circuits India8217;s OCI access to USFDA-approved non-invasive equipment for diagnosis of vascular diseases,the company said in a statement.
OCI will fund the acquisitions through internal accruals,it said,adding that the US-based firm has a line of USFDA-approved vascular systems and accessories.
Unetixs equipment for early detection of PAD greatly enhances the chances of successful treatment and management of the problem,it said.
8220;Access to the state-of-the art PAD technology of Unetixs Vascular is a key milestone for Opto. It will allow us to now offer the world diagnostic products from Unetixs and treatment products provided by Eurocor,our European subsidiary,8221; OCI Chairman and MD Vinod Ramani said.
He said the Unetixs product line will open doors for the company8217;s 8216;Criticare8217; range of patient monitors in US healthcare establishments.
Unetixs holds 14 patents worldwide and has 12 independent manufacturers8217; representatives across the US and an international office based out of England.
Opto Circuits was trading at Rs 256 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange in afternoon trade,down 2.81 per cent from the previous close.
