While four employees of a private firm kidnapped from Madhya Pradesh on Sunday were rescued from the interiors of Chambal ravines in Agra district on Tuesday,another kidnapped victim was found dead in MPs Bhind district. One of those abducted turned out to be an accomplice of the kidnappers.
Bhind SP Abhay Singh said an Indore-based firm was engaged in Kanera project on the bank of Chambal river from where dacoits had kidnapped project manager Sharad Jhavar,his security guard Santosh Pachauri,site manager Abhimanyu Tripathi,generator mechanic Dilip,driver Saleem and Sharads relative Suresh Maheshwari on Sunday. The dacoits led by brothers Raj Narayan and Raj Kumar demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore.
Agra DIG B P Singh said,The project managers security guard has been arrested,as he was found involved in hatching the kidnapping plot. On Tuesday morning,a police team traced the location of Sharads cellphone in Kheda Rathaur area and raided the place.
Santosh,whose call details showed he had been in regular contact with dacoit Raj Kumar,revealed that he had given his licensed rifle to Raj Kumar. Sharad said since his relative Suresh,60,was unable to walk with the dacoits,they dragged him along,inflicting injuries on him which led to his death.
