A naxal commander,who carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head,was killed in a gunbattle with security personnel in Rajnandgaon district

A naxal commander,who carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head,was killed in a gunbattle with security personnel in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh Saturday afternoon,police said.

The encounter took place in the forests of Bukmarka Pahadi, said Rajnandgaon SP Sanjeev Shukla. The slain Naxalite has been identified as Udham Singh,commander of Mohla Local Operating Squad and secretary of Mohla Manpur area committee of Maoists. The SP added that he was carrying a reward of Rs 2.10 lakh on his head.
