A day after the Kerala High Court observed its displeasure over CPM leader M V Jayarajans idiot remark on a Division Bench which banned meetings at public roads, the party stepped its attack on the judiciary.
Partys youth outfit DYFI took out marches to the High Court and district sessions courts across the state, pledging its support to Jayarajan.
CPM central committee member E P Jayarajan said the Division Bench which banned meetings on public road should be prosecuted. 8220;The judges should not pronounce verdicts based on persons and political parties involved in the issue. M V Jayarajan had reacted against the infringement upon civil and democratic rights. None should dare to question M V Jayarajan8217;s reaction against the court verdict. The court should be confined to its role,8221; he said while addressing the DYFI march to the district sessions court in Thalassery.
CPM Politburo member and state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said the High Court verdict was impractical. Protest against the judiciary is quite natural as its verdict is unilateral and without hearing the side of the government. The judges should not fall into the trap laid by the anti-CPM forces, said Vijayan.
Addressing a march in front of the High Court,DYFI joint secretary M Swaraj said a word worse than idiot should be invented to address the judges who pronounce such verdicts.
Meanwhile, the High Court Advocates Association passed a resolution, urging the HC to initiate contempt of court against M V Jayarajan.
