Jaguar Land Rover posts 7 increase in global sales

The company sold 6,574 Jaguar vehicles in June,a 34 per cent increase from a year earlier.

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover JLR today reported global sales of 33,739 units in June,a 7 per cent increase from the same month last year. The company sold 6,574 Jaguar vehicles in June,a 34 per cent increase from a year earlier,JLR said in a statement. The jump in Jaguar sales was driven by various markets,including China,North America and Asia Pacific. However,Jaguar sales were 5 per cent lower in Europe.

Land Rover sales rose 2 per cent to 27,165 units in June from a year earlier,it added. Land Rover sales were driven by various models,including Freelander 2 and Discovery 4,the company said. JLR sold 2,10,190 vehicles in the first six months of 2013,a 14 per cent increase over the same period last year. 8220;It is very encouraging to see both our Jaguar and Land Rover brands delivering strong sales performances across our 178 markets. New model introductions have been incredibly well received with the all-new Range Rover retailing more than 22,000 units since launch,8221; JLR Group Sales Operations Director Phil Popham said.
