The three interlocutors for Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday submitted a preliminary report to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.

Appointed on October 13 by the Union Home Ministry,the group comprising journalist Dileep Padgaonkar,academician Radha Kumar and former Central Information Commissioner M M Ansari also briefed Chidambaram about its visit to Jamp;K.

The report,which comes after the team8217;s recent six-day maiden visit to Kashmir and Jammu regions of the state,is learnt to contain some recommendations for the Centre and state government.

Emerging from the meeting,Padgaonkar,the team leader,said they were hopeful of finding a solution to the issue but did not have a magic formula. This was our first visit to the state. We gave our set of recommendations, he said.

Asked about the recommendations that the group had made,Padgaonkar said,Let it be between the government and the interlocutors.

Asked when the team intends to visit the state again and if they would hold talks with separatists,he said,We do not have any magic formula other than to keep with our efforts to be engaged with them separatists. We are hopeful and thats why our second visit will take place in less than a fortnight.
