The benchmark inflation is still high and is not acceptable,Montek Singh Ahluwalia,the deputy chairman of the Planning Commission,said on Monday.

Earlier,the wholesale price index,India8217;s main inflation gauge,rose an annual 9.97 percent in July,slower than analysts8217; expectations,as food inflation eased,government data showed on Monday.
