The Crime Branch of Delhi Police are looking for a pilot who cted as a middleman to get other pilots procure licences on the basis of forged marksheets through his contacts in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation DGCA.
Captain Jitender Kishen Verma who was arrested Sunday told the police that he paid Rs 10 lakh to get the forged marksheet against which he got a licence.
Vermas arrest follows that of Parminder Kaur Gulati,a pilot working with Indigo,on March 8. The two pilots were arrested after the police received a complaint from the DGCA.
Two other pilots Meenakshi Sehgal of Indigo and Swaran Singh Talwar of MDLR are absconding.
The police said it was unlikely that a pilot could procure the licence without the help of an insider. We have information that a middleman was involved in the racket. It could be a pilot also, said a senior police officer.
