Haresh Chawla joins IVFA

Private equity fund India Value Fund Advisors or IVFA has appointed Haresh Chawla,former chief executive with broadcaster Network 18 which owns business channel CNBC TV 18 as partner in India from June 1,2012.

Private equity fund India Value Fund Advisors or IVFA has appointed Haresh Chawla,former chief executive with broadcaster Network 18 which owns business channel CNBC TV 18 as partner in India from June 1,2012.

Chawla had quit Network18 early this year. Chawla,credited with scaling up Network 18,will be responsible to build and scale up businesses owned by the PE firm across sectors.

8220;Haresh brings with him unique experience,having built several world-class brands in the media and entertainment space,8221; says Vishal Nevatia,managing partner at IVFA.

Chawla led Network18 from a single business news channel CNBC-TV18 and portal Moneycontrol.com,to a diversified group. The firm8217;s revenue grew from Rs 15 crore in 1999 to over Rs 2500 crore in 2011. He also launched the entertainment channel Colors. Chawla has earlier worked as business development head for HCL Comnet,ABCL8217;s film distribution business and Times of India group8217;s Times Music.
