Citing overwhelming public opinion,Anna Hazare Friday spelt out his opposition to the party planned by Arvind Kejriwal. Hazare, interestingly, had cited public opinion when he announced formation of the party in his speech at Jantar Mantar in August.
Some people are saying a party should be launched but the overwhelming majority seems to be of the opinion that a party to fight elections is not a good idea. I never intended to fight elections anyway, but I am increasingly starting to believe that the change the movement can bring cannot happen through party politics, he said in his address to Shivendra Singh Chouhans rebel faction of the India Against Corruption. Look at the movements of Jaiprakash Narayan and Vinoba Bhave. They made such huge impact by remaining movements.
