Enthiran – The Robot to release on Oct 1

Endhiran dubbed in Hindi as the Robot,was earlier expected to be released this month.

starrer Endhiran – The Robot will hit screens all over the world on October 1,including USA,UK,Malaysia,Singapore and Australia. Sun Pictures,a division of the Marans-held media conglomerate Sun TV Network,is producing the trilingual 150 -crore film with music by A.R. Rahman.

Directed by Shankar,the film,dubbed in Hindi as the Robot,was earlier expected to be released this month.

Films Division,NFDC ink MoU to take Indian focus global

Films Division and NFDC have signed a marketing MoU paving the way for Indian documentaries to reach global audience.

As per the MoU,NFDC is the sole marketing agent for exploiting the telecast rights of the treasure trove of Films Division documentaries on Indian art and culture,dance and music,cinema and paintings,cinema and theatre,in India and the world over.

Sources in the Films Division said that beats of the tabla by wizards Ahmed Jaan Thirakawa and Ustad Allah Rakha,soulful renderings of Raag Kiravani and Bhairavi by M. S. Subbulakshmi and watching Satyajit Ray at work shot by Shyam Benegal and the history of Indian films unfolding before the discerning audience and critics in Europe,USA,Africa and around the globe can be a reality.

NFDC,which is already marketing Indian feature films in the foreign market,through platforms like Cannes and the Berlin Film Festivals,will now extensively exploit the rich content of Films Division productions in the global market,with cultural channels of major television networks like PBS,Fox,Channel 4,BBC,NBC,Telemundo,ABC,4 Music and Volksmusik TV as potential content buyers.

With the experience of NFDC in the film/video marketing overseas and its strong tie-ups with the leading channels and Indian film importers,it is expected that Indian documentaries will reach out to overseas audiences in a big way,sources said.

With Films Division offering a sizable number of films on topical subjects to independent documentary filmmakers,the demand for exclusive India-specific content for niche audience,Indian as well as foreign,including the huge Indian diaspora would be met,sources added.
