Chit fund scam: Oriya daily editor arrested

The Orissa police Wednesday arrested a journalist over his involvement in a multi-crore chit fund scam. Bhubaneswar DCP Nitinjeet Singh said the police arrested Srikrushna Padhi,editor of Oriya daily Odisha Kiran over his involvement in the chit fund scam perpetrated by Artha Tatwa Multi State Credit Cooperative Society. Padhi was one of the directors of the society which raised funds from public promising huge returns.

Meanwhile,continuing its drive against chit fund operators,the Economic Offences Wing of the State CID sealed a farmhouse,a cold storage and a branch office of Seashore Self-Help Cooperative Society.
